Weight Loss Drinks: Which is Most Effective?

After dieting and exercising, weight loss drinks are the most efficient fighters against fat. And though dieting and exercise are more effective, we prefer weight loss drinks over them because they are much more convenient. And why not, if we can lose fat just by sipping a cup of something, it is supposed to be our first choice.

Earlier, we knew only one weight loss drink, which was lemon and honey in hot water. Now-a-days, thanking to google and YouTube, we now know several other agents too which claim to burn fat if included in the weight loss drink. Now the confusion is, which one to try and which one not to.

Over the past many years, I have tried almost everything and so I thought I should be sharing my experiences with you and help you end your confusion.

How they Work

First, let’s understand how the weight loss drinks work? The prime function of weight loss drinks is to increase or improve the metabolism of your body. Increased metabolism means that the food you consume is burned in the body more efficiently and at a faster rate. So the fats in the body start melting and are thrown out of the body.

Also, most of the things that we consume in weight loss drinks relieve us from the problems like acidity, bloating and constipation, thus improving the digestion. Proper digestion is very crucial to maintain a healthy weight and healthy body.

Now, let’s have a look at most popular weight loss drinks (Ingredients) one by one

1. Lemon and Honey

Lemon and honey in warm water, the most ancient weight loss drink that we ever knew. Though few people still swear by its effectiveness, but has it worked for any of you? Anyone? Ever?

Because I religiously had it for several days (years ago) and it did not change anything.

So this might be the most popular one, but I found it totally ineffective.

2. Apple cider vinegar

Then came the era of apple cider vinegar, also known as ACV. In addition to weight loss, it is claimed to offer several other health and beauty benefits. Let me know in the comments if you want me to write about the ways we should use ACV for health, skin and hair.

Coming back to weight loss, ACV too is taken with honey in warm/hot water.

ACV is not as ineffective as lemon for weight loss. Yes, it does decrease your weight. However, the effect is so slow that you will hardly notice it, thus getting demotivated and will stop taking it.

So I quit this also and started looking for better options.

3. Chia seeds

If you read about agents that cause weight loss, you will find chia seeds most promising (as per the literature). ‘Magical’, ‘fat cutter’, ‘melts fat quickly’ are few of the phrases that you will find about chia seeds.

Owing to the hype created by the chia seeds, it was obvious for me to try chia seeds too.

Honestly, when I tried it alone, the results were not magical. It caused weight loss, but not very fast. So I like to combine it with other agents to have a synergistic effect of all. Now I can’t say if the effect is due to chia seeds or other agents. Still I include it in my weight loss drinks because of its health benefits. While reading about chia seeds, I found that chia seeds has anti-estrogen effects, i.e., it lowers the estrogen in body. You might know that increased level of estrogen in female body causes disorders like PCOD and Fibroids. So to keep myself away from these disorders, I take chia seeds regularly.

4. Green Tea

‘Green’ is the latest trend. Green tea and green coffee are all over the market and social media.

So following the trend, I tried green tea. I personally am a fan of green tea because of all its health benefits and anti-oxidant properties.

After having tried it for weight loss, I would conclude that green tea ‘aids’ in weight loss if you are trying to lose weight by dieting and/or exercise.

Alone, it won’t produce any magical effects, but will surely help you if you are following other methods also for weight loss.

however, I want to mention here that when I started taking green tea, I felt more energetic whole day and less tired at the end of the day. So I am convinced that green tea actually contains strong anti-oxidants. And if has this strong anti-oxidant agent, then it must be benefiting the skin also.

Thus, I suggest you all to consume green tea on a daily basis.

5. Cinnamon

Cinnamon, or Dalchini, is also known to be very effective in reducing weight. But I never tried it alone. I tried it with…. Read further to know what.

6. Cumin and Carom

Cumin, known as Jeera in hindi, and Carom, known as Ajwain in hindi, have not attracted much attention because they are traditional condiments and we usually do not value the traditional stuff.

But during my search of effective weight loss drink, I read about cumin and carom and gave it a try. I also added cinnamon in it.

And….. I finally found something which is really effective for weight loss.

Yes, cumin, carom, and cinnamon, boiled in water, are really efficient in losing weight.

I had it for a couple of months. I added honey and ACV also in it, to add to its efficiency and have a tangy taste.

I’ve always read and heard that the belly fat is the most difficult to shed, but, my belly fat was the first to start leaving my body after starting this weight loss drink.

7. Green Coffee

Green coffee, another in vogue beverage these days, is actually a very expensive one, and so I restrained myself from using it for long. But at last, I tried it out of curiosity.

I am currently having it since last ten days and will write a detailed review after around 2 months (update: now uploaded). All I can tell now is that it is working very well, and it is the first ever thing which is causing the fat loss from the face also. So I hope I will be writing a positive review about it soon having all the details such as how to take, when to take, its effects, etc.

So, the best Weight loss drinks are:

(i) Half tablespoon each of Cumin, Carom, and Cinanmon, boiled in water and then added one tablespoon each of honey and ACV.
